South Ridge Farms Inc. opened its’ doors for business on June 25th 2005 in the beautiful rolling country side of Clover, SC. The town got its name in the late 1800s when a small cluster of homes were built around a 5,000-gallon water tank. Large clover patches grew where excess water spilled on the ground, and residents affectionately referred to the area as just that, “Clover Patch”. South Ridge Farms Inc. is owned and operated by Kay Owens. Kay felt there was a need in the community for a larger and better selection of horse feed and tack for the local farms in surrounding York County. In addition South Ridge offers a wide variety of landscaping supplies and plants such as perennials, annuals and mulch. The business steadily grew by word of mouth because of the great customer service provided by Kay and her staff. Kay learned quickly to listen to her customers’ needs so her inventory expanded quickly to include everything from western wear and accessories to a full line of equine health products.
